Questions to think about

There is a lot involved in the loss of a pet, and your mind is in a whirl. Some of these questions will help guide you through the options available to you during this process.

  • Will the vet be coming to your home, or will you be taking your pet to the vet’s office?
  • Would you rather personally bring your pet to the funeral home, or would you like us to go to your home or the vet’s office to receive your pet?
  • Is there any of your pet’s favorite items that you would like to go with them? Blanket, bed, stuffed toy, picture or treat?
  • Would you like the opportunity to write a message to your pet after they pass?
  • What are you planning to do with their ashes? Will you keep them in an urn? Scatter them at their favorite spot? Place them at their favorite lake? Or bury them at a place near to your heart?
  • If you are burying your pet, is there the possiblilty that you could be moving within 5-10 years? Would you be comfortable leaving your pet where they are buried?
  • Would you like a piece of pet cremation jewelry so you can keep a little of your pet with you, around your neck, to offer comfort in having them close?
